Happy, happy birthday to one of the kindest persons that I have come across and who I can wholeheartedly call a friend: Gloria. I wish you all the best today and always, you who have the purest and kindest of hearts.

Looking forward to spending time with you in less than 3 months time! Have a good one, Glo!

"What you are in life results in great part from the influence exerted on you over the years by just a few people." ~Eleanor Roosevelt

Today is the birthday of one of those people, my mother’s sister, Auntie Nini. She has lived her life by example and she has been, still is, my sturdy anchor. Happy, happy birthday Auntie! I love you!

Feel good body aches, I miss feeling like this. I have surely been missing A LOT! 11 more weeks to go (yes, I’m counting) and then it’s summer break and another new adventure for me. I am writing the last remaining pages of this chapter in my life and I am about to start with a new one. Ah, madness! πŸ‘£ 🌍

The Qing Ming Jie (Tomb Sweeping Day) is a traditional Chinese festival and #Taoist holiday which is celebrated on the 15th day after the Spring Equinox. On this day, apart from cleaning the graves of deceased ancestors, offerings of food, tea, chopsticks, and wine are made. Burning of joss paper, called “spirit money” or “ghost money” is also a common practice to honor the ancestors as well as to seek their continuing help and guidance.

Joss paper were sold at a local market near Liangmajiayuan in Chaoyang District, Beijing in this photo that I took early morning yesterday. (06 April 2014)

I live alone, I cook alone, I eat alone, I clean alone.

Tackling this burner stove in a few, cleaning IS therapeutic! πŸ’ͺ#nohelp

Happy Sunday! 😊
